Stenson Finalists Are Felixstowe Ferry And Woodbridge

STENSON FINALISTS ARE FELIXSTOWE FERRY AND WOODBRIDGE

Saturday saw the last 4 scratch teams lock horns in the Stenson Shield with Felixstowe Ferry (pictured left) facing off against Adleburgh at Woodbridge. Felixstowe Ferry always appearred to have this match under control and ran out comfortable 7.5 to 4.5 winners as the numerous County players involved tried to forget the efforts required on Sunday.

In the final they will face Woodbridge who overcame the spirited Rushmere side with a 9.5 tk 2.5 scoreline. It was felt that Woodbridge would be favorites but after nine holes in the foursomes Rushmere were up in 3 and down in 1. However at lunch time this had become a 4 – 0 lead to Woodbridge and they never looked likely to surrender this lead running out victors at 9.5 to 2.5.

The final will be played at Ipswich on Saturday 14th September with a close and keenly fought match anticipated.
