Thrilling matches in Tolly Cobbold Cup semi finals.

The Tolly Cobbold Cup semi finals were hosted by Rookery Park and Brett Vale

At Rookery Park Beccles took on Thorpeness. Enjoying a season of stellar success Beccles managed to hang on a record a famous victory by 2 holes. At lunch Thorpeness held a narrow lead by 2 holes. The afternoon round saw a 10 hole win for the front Beccles pairing with a 6 hole loss in the second group. This was enough to give Beccles the win.

At Brett Vale Ufford Park and Fynn Valley had a very close match. Ufford held a 1 hole advantage at lunch will all matches very close. The afternoon saw another close affair. Fynn Valley captain Dave Hornsby playing with Mike Kavanaugh recorded a 4 hole success giving Fynn Valley some hope. However the back group for Ufford Park came in 3 holes up meaning it was all square so a play off was required. It took until the 4th hole to separate the teams when Ufford Park won that hole to take a slender win.

The final will be played at Thorpeness on Sunday 17th August with a 9.30am start.
