Junior Open Series
2025
The Suffolk Golf Union alongside the Suffolk Ladies County Golf Association, have commenced the Junior Open Series for 2025, with all fixture dates detailed below.
Designed to help promote the growth of junior golf within the county for both boys and girls.
Not only does it encourage golfers to engage with other like minded youngsters, it will help their development on and off the golf course by offering a platform to enjoy, compete, improve and develop their personal attributes within a safe and friendly environment.
2025 Series
We start the new season in 2025 with an additional Junior Open this year, with Bury St Edmunds joining The Series in September 2025.
All dates are now fixed and are shown below in an updated schedule for 2025.
The Junior Open Series has proved to be an exciting tournament for which we are very pleased to see it develop. More young players were seen in 2024 and we do hope that this trend will continue into 2025.
Indeed, the participating Suffolk Golf Clubs have all been extremely helpful with this order of merit competition and we know from feedback that the players, it is very well supported and received.
The winners in 2024 were George Swallow, Alex Turner, Josie Knights and Shannon Noble in their particular categories and presentations were made at The Race to Aldeburgh day, on Sunday 20th October 2024.

JUNIOR OPEN SERIES OVERVIEW
Competitors qualifying for The Junior Open Series must be a member of a club affiliated to the Suffolk Golf Union and this club must be their “home” club for handicapping purposes.
The Series will run over the course of the qualifying competitions, with the “best 5” scores taken from the total number of participating events, in all four categories. Points awarded will accumulate to the individual performance during the season, there is no upper limit on the number of entries to the Junior Open`s that an individual may enter.
The following categories apply; Boys a) gross b) net, and Girls a) gross b) net.
Points will be allocated to performance in the following manner; 1st = 8 points, 2nd = 5 points, 3rd = 4 points, 4th = 3 points, 5th = 2 points, 6th = 1 point.
Winners of each category will be those individuals achieving the highest accumulated points over the season, taken from the “best 5” results as above.
