FELIXSTOWE FERRY WIN TIGHT PARKS FINAL

This years final was hosted by 2024 winners Bungay and Waveney Valley and involved Haverhill and Felixstowe Ferry who had both triumphed in close semi finals.

After a year of drought it was surprising that the actual day was became very wet with conditions described by Felixstowe Captain Dick Seaman as desperate. However unlike the Beaumont final they did manage to complete the match and what a finish it was.

With three matches complete the score was all square and the last match was all square on the 18th tee. I guess there were a few nervous moments for players in both teams as the spectre of the dreaded play off called. Anyway all 4 were in play off the tee. (Always easy to go out of bounds on the 18th at Bungay). All 4 balls were on the green after the second shot. It was Adrian Hine however who won the match for Felixstowe sinking his 10 foot birdie putt as somehow the putts of the Haverhill pairing refused to drop meaning a one hole win.

President Charlie Wilderspin was present and is pictured above at the prize giving handing the cup to Dick Seaman.

Below is the winning team showing that a later start would have given better weather.
