BECCLES WIN THE TOLLY FOR THE FIRST TIME

Beccles and Ufford Park met in the final of the Tolly Cobbold cup at Thorpeness on Sunday 17th August. Yes I am reliably informed this is the first time they have made it this far.

The morning round was a tense affair and the teams had to battle the brutal gorse bushes and after it was over the score was 0 – 0. With only a short turn round and a hurried lunch this was going to test everyone’s stamina.

By the end of the afternoon Beccles emerged with a 5 – 0 victory and thus won the event for the first time ever.

The presentations to both the plucky runners up Ufford Park and the winners Beccles were made by John Maddock the President elect of SGU.
