Swallow and Rust successful in Under 12/14’s Skill Challenge

For the first time since the pandemic curtailed all county golf, 30 juniors in the Under 14 and Under 12 age groups got together at Ufford Park Golf Club to take part in some socially distanced skills tests. Five coaches, Kelvin Vince, Stuart Robertson, Simon Byford, Rob Pritchard and Alex Lucas, each took a group of 6 boys, testing their skills at putting, chipping, pitching, driving, mid-iron play and bunker shots. They were awarded points at each of the disciplines.

The boys were pleased to be involved with the county again and meeting up with their friends. They tackled the tasks with great enthusiasm and commitment and all had a very enjoyable, and useful, day.

The winner of the Under 12 group, and over all winner, was George Swallow (Halesworth) and the winner of the Under 14 group was Jack Rust (Flempton).
