English Under 18 Boys Stroke play Championship (Carris Trophy)

The English Under 18 Boys Stroke play Championship for the Carris Trophy was played at Broadstone Golf Club 25-27th August. 132 competitors took part, which included 3 Suffolk boys. A cut was to be made after 36 holes with the top 40 + ties going on to play the final 36 holes, however, bad weather on the opening day resulted in the round being abandoned with a cut made after 18 holes–50 players progressing to play the final 36 holes.

Unfortunately, with the cut falling at 2 over par, none of the Suffolk boys made to the final 2 rounds. George Fricker (Woodbridge) shot a 4 over par 74, Tyler Weaver (Bury St Edmunds) a 7 over par 77 and Taylor Crisp (Woodbridge) a 10 over par 80

Bad weather again intervened resulting in the final round being abandoned. The trophy went to Henry Hayward (Kedleston Park) who was 5 under par after 36 holes with rounds of 67 and 68..
