HIGHS AND LOWS AGAIN FOR SUFFOLK

HIGHS AND LOWS AGAIN FOR SUFFOLK

On the 7th of July, our mens first team travelled to Great Yarmouth & Caister Golf Club to take on old rivals Norfolk. At the same time, Norfolk second team headed to Diss golf club where our seconds waited.

The first team’s bad luck with practice rounds continued as this time torrential rain meant only half a round could be completed. It seemed they may still manage as after 18 holes the match was tied at 2-2 and now they’d know the course a bit better.. Wishful thinking sadly, the Suffolk players couldn’t quite get going and Norfolk took full advantage. Josh Robertson deserves a special mention, back in the first team collected 2 points but after that is was a tough day unfortunately as Norfolk won 8-4.

The second team were to shine some light on Suffolks gloomy day. They have turned Diss GC into a real fortress over the last few years and this time was no different. James Tyler, Chris Bartrum, Jimmy Price and Marc Duszynski all took maximum points as they matched the score from Caister, winning 8-4.
