Felixstowe Ferry win the Stenson Shield

The final of the Stenson Shield between Felixstowe Ferry and Aldeburgh was played at Bury St Edmunds Golf Club on Saturday 7th September.

The morning foursomes saw Felixstowe Ferry establish a 3-1 lead with wins from Billy McLeod and Graham Wardley, Adam Sheldrake and Will Pearce and Jimmy Price and Rhodri Harston, Logan Mair and Jack Levermore scoring Aldeburgh’s point.

In the afternoon singles Felixstowe Ferry won 5 of the 8 games, halving 2 others to leave them comfortable winners by 9-3

Results- Am Foursomes- Billy McLeod and Graham Wardley beat Will Wright and Ian Kitson 2 up, Adam Sheldrake and Will Pearce beat James Reiss and Monty Scowsill 3 & 2, Jimmy Price and Rhodri Harston beat James Keeley and Arthur Patten 7 & 6, James Tyler and Mel Pipe lost to Logan Mair and Jack Levermore 4 & 2.

Pm Singles- Sheldrake beat Wright 4 & 3, McLeod halved with Scowsill, Pearce halved with Reiss, Price lost to Kitson 2 & 1, Tyler beat Keeley 1 up, Pipe beat Patten 2 up, Harston beat Mair 2 & 1 and Wardley beat Levermore 3 & 1
