English Senior Mens Open Amateur Championship

4 Suffolk seniors took part in the English Senior Men’s Open Amateur Championship played at Elsham and Holme Hall Golf Clubs between the 5th and 7th June. The format was 36 holes, 18 at each course, with the top 80 players and ties progressing to a further 18 holes played at Holme Hall.

Unfortunately only Jeremy Baldwin (Royal Worlington & Newmarket)  made the cut which fell at 153 +11 Nigel Hilliard (Aldeburgh) shot rounds of 83 and 83 for 166, Andy Whittaker (Woodbridge) 80 and 80 for 160 and Stephen Duffety (Flempton retired after carding 81 in the 1st round.

Baldwin added a 78 in his 3rd round to his previous rounds of 72 and 73 for a 10 over par total of 223 which saw him finish tied 29th.

The title went to Ian Attoe (Worpelston) who carded 65,72 and 67 for a 9 under par total of 204
