England Golf Boys Under 16 Open Amateur Championship ( McGregor Trophy)

The England Boys Under 16 Open Amateur Championship (McGregor Trophy) was held at Camberley Heath Golf Club 13-15th July. 144 competitors took part with a cut made after 36 holes the top 40 players + ties progressing to play the final 36 holes. 

Of the Suffolk entries Dominic Rudd (Woodbridge) failed to make the cut which fell at +4 with rounds of 81-81 for a 20 over par total of 162

Tyler Weaver (Bury St Edmunds),qualified in joint 20th position after two rounds of 72 for a 2 over par total of 144. He followed up with two rounds of 69 to finish on 282 (-2) and in an extremely creditable 8th place.

The McGregor Trophy went to Harley Smith (Raleigh Golf Club) who finished on 271- 13 under par.
