2026 Hambro and Tolly Cobbold Cups begin

In the Tolly Cobbold Cup there were three winners away from home. Newton Green and Stowmarket had a great tussle at Stowmarket where the visitors finished 2 holes in front. Thorpeness went to Hintlesham where they triumphed by 3 holes and Felixstowe Ferry went to Diss and ran out winners by 4 holes.

Holders Beccles got off to a sound defence at home to Bramford with a 12 hole victory. Southwold clung on against Gorleston in another last hole matters match winning by1 hole. Ufford Park had a good match with Fynn Valley with a narrow win for the home side. There was a similar story at Rookery Park who ran out winners against Aldeburgh.

Comfortable wins were achieved by Haverhill, Flempton, Halesworth and The Suffolk.

Felixstowe Ferry are pictured prior to their Hambro Cup match at Flempton. After a very close match it all came down to the last hole where Flempton held on for a single hole win.

Elsewhere Haverhill travelled to Ipswich and had a win by 7 holes with Suffolk Juniors Hammond and Emery putting strong performances.

Diss went to Brett Vale and lost the morning by 13. A 10 hole recovery in the afternoon was not enough as the home side clung on for victory.

Fynn Valley and Aldeburgh ran out 6 hole winners against Gorleston and Ufford Park.
