U18s finish league campaign at Haverhill

The U18 side finished their league fixtures this year at Haverhill on Sunday. With a number of other events being played and it being the middle of the exam season there were a number of notable absentees from all the tees giving a chance to some fringe players.

As has been the case throughout this season after 9 holes the scores were very positive with slender but nonetheless leads in many matches. However when it came to the 18th hole the story was somewhat different.

Stand out player today was Patrick Coffey who won both his matches and looked to be in great form. HIs speech as stand in captain was equally entertaining!

For the record Bedfordshire beat Norfolk 5 – 3 and Suffolk 5.5 – 2.5 and Norfolk and Suffolk had a nerve tingling 4 – 4 result. Bedfordshire won the league with 10 pts well clear of Norfolk with 7.
