Tolly Cobbold Cup Final
The final of the Tolly Cobbold Cup, between Woodbridge and Thorpeness, was played on Sunday 25th August at Haverhill Golf Club.
The morning round saw Woodbridge take a 1 hole lead thanks mainly to a 7 hole win by Colin Dennis and Nick Pollexfen. The Thorpeness pairings of Mick Cook and Harry Brinded and Robert Booker and Peter Cooney finishing 2 up and 4 up respectively, whilst the remaining game finished all square.
The afternoon round saw two games finish all square.The Thorpeness pairing of Booker and Cooney won 3 up whilst Dwain Finch and Kevin Canham won 2 up for Woodbridge leaving the match level.
Thorpeness nominated Harry Brinded and Robert Booker to play extra holes and they duly won at the 1st extra hole against Craig Robinson and Jimmy Harris to give Thorpeness the Trophy.
