The U14s open season with a win against the seniors

The season opener saw a great match which was keenly contested. The junior side with an age range of 12 – 14 made handsome use of their shot allowance in the better ball format to run out winners by 4pts to 1pt. (3 matches won and 2 halved)

The juniors made good use of their experienced opponents and happily received help on various aspects of the game from their experienced opponents. 3 juniors were making their County debut. Manager Ian Woodhead said that it was refreshing to see his junior team’s enthusiasm to learn, hold adult conversations with the seniors, and show etiquette and manners well beyond their years. He went on to add that this an event we would like to hold in future years, it is good practice for both squads and an essential tool in sharing experience and shot techniques.
