Tait Stars at Pine Mountain

Gregor Tait (Aldeburgh) shot a remarkable 7 under par 65 to lift the Seton Hall golf team to its first Big East Championship in 22 years.The round also earned him a share of the Big East individual crown. The regional events will take place between 15-18th May at a venue yet to be decided.

Tait started the day 6 shots behind Uconn’s Caleb Manuel. He began his round with 4 straight birdies adding a 5th at the 8th hole. Tait was 4 under at the turn where he remained until he eagled the 16th and birdied the last with a lengthy putt. Tait finished level with Manuel on 11 under par with rounds of 70-70 and 65 giving him the second lowest three round par 72 total in Seton Hall history. 

Andres Acevedo(San Antonio -Texas), who represented Suffolk whilst in the UK last year,shot a final round of 2 under par to finish even par after rounds of 74-72 and 70.
