Tait beaten in final of Scottish Amateur Championship

The Scottish Amateur Championship was played at Gailes Golf Club 28-30th July. 36 holes of stroke play were held with the top 64 players progressing to the match play stage.

Gregor Tait (Aldeburgh) qualified in 2nd place returning rounds of 69-68 for a 6 under par 137

He went on to beat Scott McCardless 2 & 1, Niall Donegan 5& 4, Thomas Simmonds 2 & 1, Matthew Clark 3 & 1 and Lewis Irvine 3 & 2 before narrowly losing 1 down to Oliver Makherfee in the final.
