Suffolk U12`s compete in final match of the season at Ryston Park

The U12`s played the very last match of the Junior season on Sunday, held at Ryston Golf Club against Norfolk. The weather was kind and the course was in good condition which made for a great golfing day.

This years U12 “mini league” format with Norfolk county was Stableford, with the best six scores taken from the eight competitors, and although the lads from Suffolk fought hard, sadly we lost 189 points to 205. However, it was closer than the scores suggest, because the last lad out for Norfolk came in with 44 points and it was also within just a couple of points before the last two pairings came in, so on another day, it could have gone our way.
That`s golf, it`s often very close as we have seen in The Ryder Cup!

The Suffolk boys all played with heart and fight, and we are all very proud of them. Ian Woodhead and Ben Sausman (U14 & U12 Team Managers respectively) were assisted on the day by U14 county player Ridley Sausman, who also gave great encouragement to our younger players.

The Suffolk team consisted of Charlie Whinney, Tanner Bowley, Alex Sumpter, Frank Richmond, Raife Levermore, Josh Challicom, Albert Richmond and Bobby Lloyd.
Very well done to them all!
