Suffolk Seniors win again

Suffolk Seniors took Cambridgeshire on in the East Anglian Seniors’ League at Rookery Park Golf Club. A late injury withdrawal from the team meant that Pete Revell (Bungay) was brought into the team at the last minute. Simon Goldsmith (Rookery Park) led Suffolk out in both the singles and the foursomes and won both of his games convincingly.

Suffolk won the foursomes 3 – 2 with wins for Goldsmith & Phil Smailes (Bury St Edmunds), Steve Mann & Gary Seaman (both Woodbridge) and Steve Duffety (Bury St Edmunds) & James O’Doherty (Stowmarket).

Suffolk won the singles 7 – 3 with wins coming from Goldsmith, Steve Crosby (Gorleston), Trevor Hellyer (Hintlesham), O’Doherty, Kenton Jameson (Stowmarket), Mann and Smailes.

Suffolk ran out strong winners on the day 10 – 5.

Suffolk now have a long wait for the final EASL match of the 2023 season away to Lincs at Boston Golf Club on 31 August 2023.
