Richard Long

It is with great sorrow that Suffolk Golf Union records the death of past County President Richard Long. Richard passed away on Tuesday 9th February after a long illness following a stroke shortly after his retirement from business

Richard was a wonderful golfer , particularly as a junior when he represented England for 3 years during the 1950’s and captained the England Boys in the Home internationals.

Richard represented and captained the Suffolk County team and was President of the Union between 1983 and 1985.

The Unions deepest sympathy reaches out to his son, Stephen and his family.
