Peter Revell is Suffolk Seniors Champion

The Suffolk Seniors Championship was played at Rookery Park Golf Club on Wednesday 26th June. 58 players took part. The course was in excellent condition but a strong wind made scoring difficult.

Peter Revell (Bungay & Waveney Valley) shot a 4 over par 76 to take the title from Stephen Whymark (Woodbridge) and Trevor Hellyer (Hintlesham) who both carded 77.Stephen Duffety (Flempton) was 4th on count back from Graham Shillings (Halesworth) and Simon Bearman (Hintlesham who all returned 78.

Revell and Nicholas Luke (Woodbridge)  both returned nett 71 with four players – Shillings, Peter Cooney

(Thorpeness) David Pagan (Rookery Park) and Phil Platten (Aldeburgh) all returning nett 73.

The Michael Thomas Trophy, awarded for the best team score, went to the Woodbridge trio of Stephen Whymark, Garry Robinson and Adrian Studd, pictured left,who beat Hintlesham on count back.

Age group prizes went to Nick Luke, David Pagan, Peter Cooney, Trevor Golton, Phil Platten and Bob Richardson
