Thorpeness Golf Club held their annual competition, The Silver Frigate, a Suffolk Order of Merit event in the Woodward Markwell Race to Aldeburgh on Saturday 13th July. 56 players took part.

The lowest gross score was returned by Chris Vince (Haverhill) with 73 from Sam Newson (Thorpeness) 75 and Sam Byford (Ipswich) 76

The Silver Frigate was won by home member, Sam Newson, 8 handicap, who carded a 75 nett 67 to win by 3 shots from Harry Brinded (Thorpeness) 82-12-70. Joint 3rd were Chris Vince (Haverhill) 73-1-72, Martin Youngs (Thorpeness) 84-12-72 and Chris Ginn (Woodbridge) 77-5-72 .
