Meredith, Goldsmith and Brinded are Suffolk Match play Champions.


Bungay & Waveney Valley Golf Club hosted the finals of the Suffolk Match play events on Sunday 18th September.
The Boys Semi=Finals saw wins for Rueben Harvey (Aldeburgh) who beat Callum Hughes (Fynn Valley) by 1 hole whilst Harry Brinded defeated Dominic Rudd at the 4th extra hole.

In the Men’s Semi Final (Presidents Mashie) competition Russell Oakey (Bury St Edmunds) beat Jimmy Price, the Suffolk Amateur Champion, (Felixstowe Ferry)) 3 & 1 and Adrian Meredith beat Declan Condon (Woodbridge), 3 & 2
In the Seniors Semi Final Simon Goldsmith (Rookery Park) beat Roger Nicholson (Bury St Edmunds) at the 1st extra hole and Steve Mann, for the second year running received a walkover to the final, Trevor Hellyer having to withdraw having contracted Covid.
Brinded, the current Suffolk Junior Stroke play Champion went on to add the Match play title defeating Harvey 6 & 4.
Meredith, who took the Easterbrook Trophy for the leading amateur at the Suffolk Open Championship added the Suffolk Match play title (Presidents Mashie) in defeating Oakey by 3 & 2.
Goldsmith,, the current Suffolk Seniors Stroke play Champion, added the Suffolk Seniors Match play title
beating Mann by 1 hole.
