Gregor Tait wins the South East of England Links Championship

The South East of England Links Trophy was played at Royal Cinque Ports and Royal St Georges Golf Club 1-3rd September.
Gregor Tait (Aldeburgh) took the title winning by 8 strokes from his nearest challenger, after rounds of 69,69,67 and 70 for a 7 under par total of 275 Tait also won the Grand Challenge Cup, St Georges oldest Trophy dating back to 1887, played for over the final 36 holes on the Saturday. This trophy has been won in the past by Vardon, Nicklaus, Bonallack and Westwood. .
Patrick Spraggs (Aldeburgh) finished 5th carding 75,72,69,69 for a 3 over par total of 285 and was also runner up to Tait for the Grand Challenge Cup with Monty Scowsill (Woodbridge) in 10th place after shooting 71,69,76,72 for a 6 over par total of 288. Alfie Halil (Flempton) with 73,73,72,75 11 over par on 293 was in 25th place.
