The English Champion Club Tournament was held at Romford Golf Club on the 21/22 September. 31 Counties had submitted entries with Suffolk’s representative being Hintlesham Golf Club who qualified by virtue of them winning the team trophy at the Suffolk Amateur Championship.

In the 1st round Ben Sayers carded a 2 over par 73 with both Jack Cardy and Sam Debenham returning 3 over par scores of 74.In round 2 Cardy shot 80, Debenham 73 and Sayers 78 for a total of 452 which saw them finish in 23rd place.

City of Newcastle Golf Club, representing Northumberland, won the event with a 6 under par total of 420.
