Suffolk U14 & U12s in action at the weekend

The Suffolk U14 and U12`s were in action on Sunday 29th June at Newton Green Golf Club. Ian Woodhead and Ben Sausman (U14 & U12 Team Managers respectively) organised the latest challenge match for the Suffolk squads, this time being an 18 hole competition.

The course and hot conditions were tricky, which were confirmed by many of the scores seen on the day. However, a few lads did score very well and certainly their handicaps will reduce following their excellent performances.

Alfie Pruden from Ufford Park Golf Club is having a great year, he took the U14 net category with 45 points, a superb performance at Newton Green. Alex Turner from Bungay & Waveney Valley Golf Club, won both the U14 gross (shooting 76), and also 2nd net position with 39 points – He is also having a very good 2025 and this follows his success in the 2024 Junior Open Series net overall win. And in the U12 category, Charlie Whinney from Thorpeness Golf Club took the honours with 35 points, closely followed by Tanner Bowley from Ufford Park Golf Club, on 34 points.

Well done to all the competitors and our thanks go to Ian, Ben and of course Newton Green Golf Club for hosting this event.
