PARKS TROPHY – RESULTS FOR ROUND 1
The idea of playing the match play competitions in the summer so that the weather is better and courses in prime condition was largely lost on the first round of the Parks this year as the first round matches were anything but in enjoyable in steady or torrential rain and in one case rendering the course unplayable.
Rookery Park continued the clubs mastery of away fixtures with a close run win at Rushmere. The were close finishes as Diss and Hintlesham got the better of Ufford Park and Gorleston respectively. Elsewhere there were comfortable wins for Seckford, Felixstowe Ferry and holders Halesworth.
The next round will be played on 20th June.
