U14`S COMPETE IN THE KEITH BASS TROPHY

The Suffolk U14 team played at The Millbrook Golf Club yesterday and competed for the annual Keith Bass Trophy against Bedfordshire, Essex and Norfolk. After a long drive over to the club, the players found the course quite tricky with tight fairways and slick greens – a course you needed to have played in order to avoid the trouble.

The tournament trophy is won with the combination of the best three gross scores, added with the best three net scores out of the 8 players – the eventual winners being Essex, again bringing a strong squad to compete on the day.

A challenging day for the lads but all things considered and whilst we came in fourth place, the team played with a great sense of purpose and in excellent spirit. One other county parent actually commenting on how courteous our Suffolk team were.

As the 2023 summer season is now drawing to a close, we will look to making changes to the coaching / training over the winter for the U14`s, in order that Suffolk can move forward in these matches throughout 2024.
