Tyler Weaver wins the Suffolk Junior Championship

The 2021 Suffolk Junior Championship has been held at Rookery Park Golf Club in sunny, but breezy conditions. The course was in excellent condition.

It was very disappointing that only 11 boys participated, 7 boys with single figure handicaps playing 36 holes with the gross scores to count for the competition and 4 boys, with double figure handicaps, playing 18 holes with their nett scores to count for a separate competition.

The Junior Champion for 2021 is Tyler Weaver (Bury St Edmunds) with a score of 145 (73 – 72). Runner up was Sid Neenan (Aldeburgh) with 155 (79 – 76) and Josh Altham (Rookery Park) was third with 166 (83 – 83). These three players, together with Charlie Goodridge (Bury St Edmunds) will compete in the Junior Matchplay competition.

The competition for the higher handicap players was won by Cameron Bacon (Halesworth) with nett 81, beating his older brother, Mackenzie by just one stroke.
