Suffolk Seniors fail in their attempt to qualify for the Southern Counties Foursomes Finals
Suffolk Seniors were in action against Norfolk, Cambridgeshire and Bedfordshire at Gog Magog Golf Club when they were attempting to qualify for the Southern Counties Foursomes Finals which this year are to be played at Waterlooville Golf Club on the 16th September.
They started badly in the morning round, Simon Bearman and Trevor Hellyer winning their only point from the five games.
Despite a spirited fightback in the afternoon ,James O’Doherty and John Newsome, Simon Bearman and Trevor Hellyer and Roger Taylor and Kevin Brooks all winning, they still finished bottom of the table with 4 points.
Norfolk won the event and qualification on 6 points with Bedfordshire 5.5 and Cambridgeshire 4.5 .
