Sam Jaggard Trophy

Sam Jaggard Trophy

The Sam Jaggard Trophy is awarded by the SGU Junior Committee to a player in the Under 16 age group who has shown outstanding commitment to Suffolk junior golf and set an example to others both on and off the course.

The recipient for the 2019 season is George Austin of Thorpeness Golf Club.

George was relatively late in taking up golf, compared with many juniors who represent the county, and quickly became a popular member of the squad. He enjoyed a successful season on the golf course when representing the county and turned in some very impressive performances in matches. He has set an excellent example to all junior golfers.

It was intended that that the trophy would be presented to George at the last county coaching session but national events meant that the session was cancelled, so it will be presented as soon as possible.
