Under 18 Finish Runners Up At The End Of The League Campaign

UNDER 18 FINISH RUNNERS UP AT THE END OF THE LEAGUE CAMPAIGN

On Sunday 25th August the u18 side locked horns with Norfolk and Bedfordshire in the final round of this rearranged match. The picture right was the Royal Norwich course on our last visit.

The league position at the start could not have been closer with Suffolk and Bedfordshire level on points and for the purist had a better “goal” difference by 2.

All sides were challenged over team selection due to the Bank Holiday weekend with Suffolk giving a debut to Josh Emery after a great performance against Essex recently in the u16s.

About half way round managers Jim Harrison and Paddy Lockwood were hopeful of a close but nonetheless winning result. However it was not to be. Bedfordshire completed a 7 – 1 win over Norfolk with Suffolk winning 5.5 to 2.5. Bedfordshire were strong on the back nine and romped home to a 6.5 – 1.5 victory giving them the league and place in the final on their home track.

Below is the team before the match. (From the left, Josh Emery, Louie Bayfield, Kane Russell, Patrick Coffey, George Swallow, Enzo Johnson, Harry Winn and Charlie Langdon.
