Tolly Cobbold Cup results

The Tolly Cobbold second round was played on Sunday 25th May. First result in sees Beccles awarded a home draw in the quarters after their win over St Clements and they will host Hintlesham who ovrecame Rookery Park with a close 5 hole win.

Perhaps the result of the round was at Bury St Edmunds where Woodbridge were victorious by 2 holes. Bury St Edmunds were indebted to Shae Baldwin last round and he again had a good result. However Captain David Hughes introduced David Coffey in the afternoon and he tied his match. It did prompt David to ask if there were records of youngest players. David was 12 years and 148 (ish) day old. Does anyone know of a younger player in this competition. If you do let the SGU Secretary know. Woodbridge are rewarded with a local derby with Ufford Park who beat Bramford. Woodbridge are pictured above prior to the start of the match.

Stowmarket out scored St Audrys and will host Fynn Valley in the next round after their comfortable victory over Diss. The last tie will be between hosts Thorpeness (only 1 hole in it at lunch) before beating a plucky Seckford side and Gorleston who won the battle of seaside courses with Felixstowe Ferry.
