Suffolk start well in Anglian League

Suffolk commenced their 2019 Anglian League programme with matches against Leicestershire & Rutland on Sunday 12th May.

The County 1st team were away at Market Harborough Golf Club where they achieved a creditable 6 each draw. The morning singles were shared  2-2 Jack Cardy and Sam Debenham winning their game and Monty Scowsill and James Biggs and Jed Seeley and Sam Byford halving their respective games.

Wins in the afternoon singles came from Biggs, George Fricker, and Cardy whilst Scowsill and Byford halved.

The 2nd team were at Diss Golf Club. The morning foursomes saw them establish a 3.5 to 0.5 lead against the 2018 champions with wins from Chris Vince and Josh Driver. Jamie Jones and Ben Sayers, Adam Sheldrake and Russell Oakey and a halve from James Tyler and Chris Bartrum.

Wins in the afternoon singles from Chris Vince, Chris Bartrum, James Tyler and Russell Oakey and a halve from Josh Driver saw them comfortable winners by 8-4
