Suffolk Seniors suffer narrow defeat

Suffolk Seniors were narrowly beaten by Norfolk in an East Anglian Seniors League match played at Bury St Edmunds Golf Club on Wednesday 18th May.

The morning foursomes saw Norfolk establish a 3-2 lead, Suffolk’s points coming through wins by Steve Duffety & Graham Sykes and Roger Taylor & John Newsome.

In the afternoon the 10 singles matches were shared leaving Norfolk the winners by 8-7

Results- Am Foursomes Steve Crosby & Trevor Hellyer lost to John Baker-Odlin & Ian Reid 3 & 2, Simon Goldsmith & Gary Seaman lost to Steve Dunsice & John Little 2 & 1, Steve Duffety & Graham Sykes beat Simon Butts & Phil Brown 3 & 1, Roger Taylor & John Newsome beat Adrian Myhill & Mark Skipper 3 & 2, Roger Nicholson & Phil Smailes lost to John Tavener & kelvin Burns 2 & 1

Pm Singles- Nicholson lost to Baker-Odlin 1 down, Smailes lost to Butts 2 & 1, Goldsmith beat Little 2 & 1, Newsome lost to Reid 3 & 2, Sykes halved with Dunsire, Taylor lost to Myhill 4 & 3, Duffety beat Skipper 3 & 2, Crosby beat Brown 3 & 2, Seaman halved with Tavener, Hellyer beat Burns 5 & 4
