SEG Under 18 League match ( Norfolk and Beds)
On Saturday the 22nd of May Suffolk U18’s kicked off their season with the opener in the SEG league against Norfolk and Bedfordshire. The format is 8 man triangular match play with the eventual league winners going on to play in the regional finals.
Suffolk fielded a very strong but very young team with 4 of the players of U16 age and 6 boys making their U18 debut.
Suffolk played very well with standout performance coming from Harry Brinded who won one of his matches 7&5 and halved the other on the final green.
Suffolk beat Norfolk 5 points to 3 but lost to Bedfordshire 6 points to 2. Bedfordshire beat Norfolk 6.5 to 1.5 putting Bedfordshire top of the league.
It’s early days and Suffolk’s 2 points could be pivotal at the end.
