SEG Under 16 League match
Saturday 16th July saw the Suffolk U16s have their second league match of the season hosted by Norfolk at Wensum Valley Golf Club.
Manager Jim Harrison had the day off and it would be good to say that all went well but it was not to be. Poor substitute Paddy Lockwood arrived at the coach without the jumpers and shirts he was supposed to take and the intended recipients tried to not look disappointed and failed. The customary photograph was not taken either due to a failure to get all 8 together at any time.
Apart from those disasters all was not doom and gloom. Hertfordshire ran out winners against both Norfolk and Suffolk (8-0 and 7-1 respectively). Special note here to Haydn Webster who won 1 up with and George Swallow who lost 1 down after a great match. In the Norfolk match we won 6 – 2, a great result. Even those who suffered narrow defeats played very well. This included wins for debutantes Bailee Taylor, George Swallow and Haydn Webster with the latter shading player of the day with 2 points gained.
