Junior Open Series
2025
The Suffolk Golf Union alongside the Suffolk Ladies County Golf Association, have commenced the Junior Open Series for 2025, with all fixture dates detailed below.
Designed to help promote the growth of junior golf within the county for both boys and girls.
Not only does it encourage golfers to engage with other like minded youngsters, it will help their development on and off the golf course by offering a platform to enjoy, compete, improve and develop their personal attributes within a safe and friendly environment.
2025 Series
The second Junior Open of 2025 was held at Thorpeness Golf Club on Bank Holiday Monday, the 5th May.
Played on this fine James Braid designed course, The Bell Cup attracted a good number of entries again and was played in very windy conditions, typical for golf on our lovely Suffolk coast!
The players from Flempton did very well, with Alexa Calzada Salas scoring the best of the field with a gross 80, taking the Girls gross and net first places. She was followed by Abigail Hope (Bungay & Waveney Valley) finishing a close 2nd in the female classification.
For the Boys from Suffolk, Justin Wang also from Flempton, took the best gross with a solid 81, with Edward Cobbald (Bury St Edmunds) taking the net with a 70.
Another successful Junior Open completed, early days but good to see a few new names appearing on the leader boards
