2025 Series
Well, we`ve had quite a flurry of tournaments since our last update so I will try to be brief;
Gorleston GC held their Junior Open on Tuesday 5th August which saw Thomas Mathers take first place. However, not being from Suffolk it was Charlie Langdon (Aldeburgh) who took The Series points in the scratch category. Local lad Theo Craft (Gorleston) had a fine net 70 to take the net points. Sadly, no girls took part in this one.
Next was the Rookery Park Junior Open on Saturday 9th August and it was Patrick Coffey (Woodbridge) who took the honours in the gross tournament. In the net, Harry Page (Gorleston) won with a fine net 67 and it is indeed, great to see the Gorleston lads doing so well. In the Girls, Jasmine Points was the only girl attending but took the win in style with a very good gross 71.
And thirdly, Felixstowe Ferry held their Junior Open on Monday 11th August with Patrick Coffey taking the win with a fine 71 gross, and another new name of Lewis Goddard (Ipswich) taking the net with a 68.
For the Girls, Jasmine Points (Bury St Edmunds) played extremely well again and took the gross with another 71 and Imogen Potter (Diss) taking the net points.
So to The Series, Patrick Coffey now leads the scratch tournament on 24 points, with a few very close behind him.
In the Net Series, we now have Edward Cobbald (Bury St Edmunds) and Rory Tilbrook (Aldeburgh) both on 14 points, but it is extremely close and one of a number could come out winners in the end.
With her two latest victories, Jasmine Points consolidated her lead in the scratch category with maximum points now of 40 and also with her strong performances, Imogen Potter (Diss), consolidates her lead in the net competition on 37 points.
Three to go now and it is anyone`s guess who will take the overall boys titles.
