HAMBRO AND TOLLY ROUND UP

HAMBRO AND TOLLY ROUND UP

Bungay Hambro Team

The Sunday just gone saw Suffolk clubs compete in the Hambro and Tolly Cobbold Cups, both of which are handicap foursomes knock-out competitions.

In the Hambro, a competition for single figure players, only six fixtures took place due to a number of byes and a walk-over for Halesworth because The Suffolk GC were unable to raise a team,. In one excellent match hosts Seckford managed a memorable win by just one hole over 13 time champions Ipswich. It was an impressive performance away at Ufford Park that saw Stowmarket go through by 6 holes. Home wins saw Bury st Edmunds and Bungay move through against Haverhill and Rookery Park respectively whilst also into the next round went Woodbridge and Flempton. The next rounds are due to take place on Sunday 26th May.
