Changes in 2022 to the Order of Merit / Race to Aldeburgh

Sunday the 23rd October is a must date for ALL golfers in Suffolk to add to their golfing diaries.

As we seek to grow our great game we  want to encourage not only the elite golfers but also the handicap golfers to be a part of the the Race to Aldeburgh.

Joining our elite top 10 Scratch players who have qualified via their qualifying events, will be the top 10 handicap players who will also have completed their journey to Aldeburgh via qualifying events.

The winner of the Scratch Order of Merit will be the player gaining the highest number of points from the qualifying events including the final and will receive the Dick Berendt Salver

The Seniors Order of Merit salver will be awarded to the leading senior player with the highest number of points gained form the Scratch qualifying events including the final and the Suffolk Seniors Championship.

The Junior Order of Merit (David Houston Salver) will be awarded to the leading junior player with the highest number of points gained from the scratch qualifying events including the final and the Suffolk Junior Championship

To add even more excitement to this season ending finals day event, there will also be the opportunity for 8 additional players to compete in a separate SGU Sponsored Stableford Competition having qualified from a designated medal via their home clubs (top 8 CSS net scores).

So please add it to your diaries and if not successful you will be more than welcome to attend what will be an exciting end of season finale.
