Beaumont reaches the quarterfinal stage

Beccles, pictured above before round 1 are having a great time in the match play competitions this year and travelled to Brett Vale for the round 2 tie. It was not be as the home side ran out winners by 12 holes.

Holders Rushmere, hosted Bramford today and what a tie it turned out to be. The front two matches went to Bramford with 1 and 4 hole wins. Rushmere roared back to win match 3 by 6 holes. David Curran and Martin Royal in match 4 finished 1 up meaning the scores were level. Gary Allison and Malcolm Barnes were chosen to represent the Bramford team by captain Mark Oakes and they duly obliged by winning the first play off hole.

There were close tussles between Bury St Edmunds and Woodbridge and Halesworth v Southwold. Bury ran out winners by 3 holes in the end with all 4 matches very competitive. Halesworth won over near neighbours by 4 holes.

Else where there home wins for Fynn Valley, Haverhill, Hintlesham and The Suffolk to complete the ties.
