English Boy’s Amateur Stroke Play Championship (Carris Trophy)

The English Boy’s Amateur Stroke play Championship (Carris Trophy) was played at Silloth on Solway Golf Club 19-22nd July. It is open to boys under the age of 18 on 1.1.2022.

It is a 72 hole event with a cut after 36, the top 60 players and ties progressing to play the final 36 holes.

Suffolk had 3 participants, Tyler Weaver (Bury St Edmunds) who made the cut in 12th place with rounds of 67 and 76 -143 (1 under par)Teddy Hall (Bury St Edmunds) and Dominic Rudd (Woodbridge) who shot 74-78-152 (+8) and 78-83-161 (+17) respectively. Both failed to make the cut which fell at 149 (+5)

Weaver went on to add a 2 under par 70 in round 3 and a 3 under par 69 in the final round for a total of 282, 6 under par which saw him finish tied in 8th place.

The Championship was won by Dylan Shaw-Radford (Hudderfield) who had rounds of 70,65,71,67 for a 15 under par total of 273
