Junior Development Hubs
The SGU and SLCGA announced this new joint initiative two years ago, inviting juniors from Suffolk Golf Clubs to participate.
The Hubs are for boys and girls (aged 14 and under on the 7th October 2026) who are now of a standard higher than needed for Golf Sixes, but do not yet hold a handicap sufficient to be invited to attend the county coaching sessions, and are intended to be a stepping stone towards juniors representing the county for both boys and girls.
It is emphasized that the Hubs will not replace individual or group coaching lessons that Juniors may have at their own clubs.
Three Hubs are available across the county, located at Rookery Park GC, Ufford Park GC, and Culford School.
The first Development Hub of the season in April 2026 will be an assessment of skills to establish initial levels of ability. Very much to ensure that our coaches can adapt their ongoing sessions to the required needs.
The Development Hubs will be held at the following venues and times;

The final meeting will be an assessment day in October 2026.
The Hubs will be facilitated by at least two PGA coaches at each Hub, more if required depending on numbers attending. Parents are kindly requested to contribute just £25 towards assisting with the cost, which will cover at least five to six 3 hour sessions in the spring and summer.
Parents and / or clubs are requested to forward the name, club, handicap index (if any), contact email and parent `phone number, of boys and girls wishing to attend one of the Hubs to the SGU and SLCGA contacts below in order that we can assess initial numbers
