A match between Beccles and the SGU was played last Sunday which resulted in a win for the home club by 17 holes. SGU President John Maddock is pictured presenting the Waveney Whack trophy to Stuart Haggar, the captain of Beccles GC.
We hope the good work started this year in improving the golf course can be continued in 2027. To assist this process the Beccles secretary and members of the SGU board are hoping to engage with the Beccles town council to establish what assistance they may be able to give.
The local community will also be more engaged with and opportunities for new golfers, young and old will grow the community and help the club develop.
We hope a golf coach can be identified to assist the club and the SGU board will be working with local schools to identify more potential opportunities!
