GolfSixes Final

The final of the 2026 GolfSixes League was held recently at Newton Green Golf Club, who were excellent hosts. The event was organised by the Newton Green professional and junior organiser, Tim Cooper.

GolfSixes League is a vibrant, fast-paced initiative designed to transition young beginners from the practice range to the golf course. By providing a fun, team-based environment, the programme removes traditional barriers to entry, focusing on "Golf for Good" and the development of essential life skills alongside technical ability.

Eight teams from the four Suffolk leagues reached the final with Bury St Edmunds Red team winning a very closely contested event with 131 points and receiving the Roger Wright Trophy. Newton Green were second with 129 points, Bury St Edmunds Blue team and Ipswich were in joint third place with 128 points. The other teams competing were Feltwell (Norfolk), Fynn Valley, Gorleston and Halesworth.
