The annual match between Suffolk and Essex U14`s, The Anglia Shield, was played out on Wednesday 12th August at a sunny Brett Vale Golf Club.

The course was set up very well in the dry conditions, especially considering what we are all seeing in this very hot year. The balls were indeed rolling a long way, not always straight, but the greens were superb.

This year's team have posted the lowest handicaps we have seen in many years, ranging from 4 to 12, with six of the boys under 7.5 and which also illustrates the great progress which has been made at this level.

There were wins for Ed Cobbald, Hugh Oliver, Reece Edwards, Tanner Bowley and Raife Levermore and a half for Alfie Williams.
