Southern Counties Foursomes qualifiers
President John Maddock starts the qualifying event at Aldeburgh on Monday 29th June

The Southern Counites Foursomes qualifier was held at Aldeburgh GC on Monday 29th June on a lovely warm (later hot) day with teams from hosts Suffolk, Cambridgeshire, Norfolk and Bedfordshire vying for the win and a place in the final later this year.
After the first round of matches Norfolk, who had won last year, were top of the heap with 4 pts and 2 pts to the other counties so all was to play for in the afternoon. The afternoon rounds ended with Norfolk and Bedfordshire tied on 6 pts and the Cambridgeshire and Suffolk tied on 4. Bedfordshire were delighted when it was announced that they had won on the competition countback rules with a score of 26 to Norfolk's 21. Bedfordshire will represent the region in the final.
