Boys 6 man qualifier at Ham Manor
The 6 man junior squad are pictured after a warm day at Ham Manor

The 6 boys chosen for this event, which is the pinnacle of achievement, set out from Ipswich early in the morning. The road works at Rivenhall held us up for an hour and then an unfortunate incident meant a late arrival but we did possess a couple of new diesel cans.
Ham Manor was in good nick and as everywhere else currently dry and seared off. Scoring was clearly tough as the first round hand only small handful of players under par. One player, not from Suffolk, started with a 12 and was -1 for the other 17 so well done him. At lunch we were tied 9th. A great afternoon 70 (level) from Patrick Coffey saw him finish in 11th position as he continued his great form. Other players managed some good 9 holes but not 18 meaning we finished in 11th place.
Thanks are due to Ham Manor for being an excellent venue and to Simon Hobson and Mike Rees who made the day run smoothly despite the usual hiccups.
