How the season on the whole would be viewed hung in the balance as the first team travelled to Thetford and the seconds hosted at Bungay and Waveney Valley.

Suffolk were delighted for the second month in a row to get two wins. The first team dominated away from home. In the morning foursomes the throwback pairing of Alfie Halil and George Fricker collected a point along with Sam Renville and Connor Talbot before Will Wright and Patrick Coffey added another half. Just the second time the first team have taken a lunchtime lead into the singles and it seemed to provide momentum as Halil and Fricker both dominated their singles winning 4&3 and 7&6 respectively. Renville also dominant took his match 7&6 and Talbot won his match on the last to the forth player on the day to collect maximum points. Another point was added to the Suffolk tally by Dan Hedges who out at the back won 3&1 before another couple of half points from Russell Oakey and Patrick Coffey made for a comfortable 8.5-3.5 Suffolk Victory away from home.

It was a similar story back at home for the second team. Just like at Thetford, whilst the games were tight, Suffolk came out on top. Chris Bartrum and Dylan Cook won 2&1 and Jimmy Price and Louis Sturman won their game on the last green. Marc Duszynski and James Tyler managed a half and took a morning lead. Bartrum started Suffolk off nicely in the singles winning 2&1 and not far behind was Harry Brinded winning 3&1. Dylan Cook won his match on the last as Jimmy Price took his 3&2. A couple more halves from Dominic Rudd and Marc Duszynski meant a 7.5-4.5 Suffolk win and a good day all round.

Now the season can be viewed, on the whole, positively. Both the first and second team finished their league campaigns in 3rd place only behind Lincolnshire and Leicestershire who’s Anglian league dominance seems to continue.

These third place finishes top off an above average campaign where Suffolk finished 2nd at Seacroft in the Eastern Inter Counties Foursomes and 8th in their 6-Man Qualifier.

All who contributed to these accomplishments can be pleased with their efforts and it seems Suffolk have a strong foundation again on which to build on.
