The first league match of the year was a home fixture and saw Suffolk with an early chance to stamp some authority on the league standings. The handicaps of all sides were very comparable so it would be the team that played well on the day that would triumph. It was Norfolk that played well and deservedly beat Bedfordshire by a score of 7 - 1 while dispatching the hosts by 6.5 - 1.5. The match up between Suffolk and Bedfordshire was much closer with the Suffolk side running out winners by 5 - 3. Congratulations to Charlie Hammond for his 2 points.
